❤️ Advent Devotional – Week 4, Day 1: Love Came Down

1 John 4:9–11

9 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
10 Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. (CSB)

Reflection

Love isn’t an idea—it’s a person. God’s love took on flesh in Jesus, stepping into our brokenness to bring us life.

At Christmas, we don’t celebrate sentiment; we celebrate salvation. The cradle points to the cross, where love reached its fullest expression.

Let every act of kindness and every word of grace this week reflect the love that first came down to you.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for revealing the love of God in Your birth and through Your life.
Help me show that love to others.
Amen.

Questions for Reflection

  • How has God’s love become personal to you?
  • Where can you show Christlike love this week?
  • How does remembering the incarnation deepen your gratitude?

Encouragement for the Week

Love didn’t stay distant—it drew near.
