Joseph Part 11: Jacob's Lost Sons
In Genesis 42, the past catches up with Jacob’s sons. Facing starvation and a harsh ruler in Egypt, the brothers are forced into a crisis of conscience that mirrors their greatest crime.
In this session, we unpack the brilliant structural design of Genesis—explaining how the author uses echoes of Eden, Cain and Abel, and Noah’s Covenant to expose the brothers' guilt. Joseph purposefully recreates the exact circumstances of his own betrayal, leaving the brothers with a choice: will they repeat the patterns of the past, or will they choose transparency and integrity?
Finally, we look at Jacob’s ultimate test of relinquishment. Just like Abraham and Judah before him, Jacob must learn what it means to open his hands and trust God with the things he is most afraid to lose.
