Rewired: Mental Wholeness in Christ

Michael Ryan Stotler

There is a mental health crisis in our world today. Anxiety, depression, burnout, comparison, and hopelessness affect millions of people, including people sitting in churches every Sunday.

In Philippians 4:8–9, the Apostle Paul gives one of the most practical and transformative teachings in all of Scripture about the mind, peace, and spiritual health. Writing from prison, Paul teaches believers how godly thinking leads to godly living and how the peace of God is connected to what we allow our minds to dwell upon.

In this sermon we explore: • Why the mind matters in Christian living • The connection between thought patterns and spiritual health • Paul’s eight filters for the mind • Anxiety, bitterness, comparison, and information overload • How Scripture renews the mind • What it means to “take every thought captive” • The promise of the God of peace
