Understanding Temptation

What is the difference between a trial and a temptation? And where does temptation really come from?

In James 1:12–18, James teaches us that God may test our faith, but He never tempts us to sin. Instead, temptation begins with our own desires. James gives us a sobering picture of how desire can give birth to sin, and how sin ultimately leads to death.

But James doesn't leave us there. He reminds us that God is the source of every good and perfect gift. He is the Father of lights who does not change. And through the word of truth, God gives us new spiritual life.
